BRITISH CONSUL GENERAL OF BOSTON PROMOTES CAYMAN ISLANDS

Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands (May 19, 2010) Dr. Philip Budden, British Consul General of Boston, and his family vacationed in Grand Cayman last year and were so enamoured with the island that they wanted to share it with the Council members, all of which are top leaders of the legal, finance and energy industries in Boston, Massachusetts. As a result of the Budden family’s enthusiasm, the Department of Tourism decided to host a reception for 70 guests, including the members of the British American Business Council, in the private home of Dr. Budden.

The event was a culmination of efforts to educate the guests on the destination and was enhanced by the Consul General’s personal experience. It was an important opportunity for partners of the Cayman Islands to mingle with the guests and further encourage them to vacation here.
Also in attendance at the reception were Wendy Bolz, Cayman Connection; Melanie Alexander, Coral Stone Club; Anne Hemion, Ritz-Carlton; Michael Chisholm, West Indies Management; Tina Dutko, US Airways; Lynne Carroll and Paul Swartz, American Airlines; Ted Petersen, Boston Globe; Randy Hano, Boston Magazine; and Kathy Rochefort, Improper Bostonian Magazine.
