Art Flix Each month the National Gallery presents ART FLIX, a public screening of art films and documentaries relating to the history of art. The films are introduced with a short lecture and attendees are invited to discuss films following screenings. A complimentary glass of wine accompanies the film which begins at 5:30pm. ART FLIX is held the third Wednesday of each month at the National Gallery which is located on the waterfront, on the ground floor of Harbour Place, on South Church Street, in the capital George Town. Annual Garden & Flower Show 3/5/2010 - 3/6/2010 The Garden Club of Grand Cayman's Annual Flower Show on Market Street. The Show has two Divisions - Artistic Design and Horticulture. Entries are not limited to members of The Garden Club, so budding enthusiasts are encouraged to enter as well. The Artistic Division (floral arrangements) must be pre-registered, please call Iris Chomyn at 949-2707 for information. The Horticulture Division will accept entries of cut specimens and potted plants. Exhibits can be brought to the show on Thursday evening between 5-7pm and on Friday morning from 7-9am. Entries MUST be competition ready i.e. free of dirt, bugs and damaged leaves, pots must be clean etc. or they will not be allowed to be entered in the show. Members of the public are invited to view the show and take in the creative floral designs and the wide range of horticulture entries; to browse the Plant Sale and enter the raffle for flower arrangements donated by Grand Cayman florists. Also open to the public, a special treat this year - Frank Laning, Floral Manager at The Ritz-Carlton, will give a flower arranging demonstration on Saturday 6 March at 3:30pm. Drawing Fundamentals with the National Gallery Drawing Fundamentals will investigate concepts such as perspective, light and shadow, proportion, tone and other elements of design.
